할렐루야! 주께서 우리들을 찾아오신 성탄절이 다가옵니다. 주님의 평강을 모든 동역자님들 한분 한분에게 전합니다. 한인총회 감독으로 섬긴지가 이번달로 꼭 만 3년이 됩니다. 지난 3년을 은혜 가운데 인도해 주신 주님께 감사드리고, 또한 격려해 주시고 함께 동역해 주신 모든 동역자님들께 감사를 드립니다. 지난 3년 동안의 한인총회 사역을 동역자님들과 함께 뒤돌아보고 싶습니다. 그리고 2024년 새해의 밑그림을 함께 그려나가고자 합니다. 지난 3년 동안 한인총회에서 진행해온 대표적인 사역들은 다음과 같습니다.
파란색 사역들은 안정적으로 자리를 잡은 사역들입니다. 주황색 사역들은 현재 계속해서 힘을 쏟아붓고 있는 사역들 입니다. 빨간색 사역들은 내년부터 본격적으로 시작하여야 하는 사역들입니다. 각 사역들에 대하여 한 두 문장씩으로 추가 설명을 드립니다.
(1) 교회개척: 교단 정책 및 모든 지원과 일치하는 '교회개척 러드맵' 및 '교회개척 코칭 시스템'을 완성하고 가동하고 있습니다.
(2) 교회건강: 교단의 교회건강 검진 시스템인 PEAK의 방대한 내용을 한어로 번역했고, 시스템 가동 완료했습니다. 한인교회들을 위한 PEAK 코칭팀이 구성되었습니다.
(3) 교단본부와의 관계: 교단 리더십들과의 현재 관계는 이보다 더 좋을 수는 없습니다. 또한 계속해서 주요사역들을 위한 재정 지원을 받고 있습니다.
(4) 한인총회의 화합: 총회의 화합을 위하여, 감독인 저는 매주일 계속해서 교회들과 지역회를 찾아가고 있습니다. 2021년에는 54회, 2022년에는 57회, 그리고 올해에는 현재까지 56회 방문하고 있습니다.
(5) 어린이공유사역: 어린이주일학교 공유사역의 컨텐츠를 사용하는 교회들이 계속해서 늘고 있습니다. Lilly 재단으로부터 3년에 걸쳐 $60만불 과제로 선정되었으며, 교단으로부터도 같은 기간에 $9만불을 지원받습니다. 교단의 지속적인 한인총회 지원을 감사드립니다!
(6) 영성사역: 목회의 기본은 영성입니다. 목회자의 영성이 살아있으면 교회는 결코 쓰러지지 않습니다. 현재 젊은 목회자들 30여명이 참여하고 있습니다. 앞으로 계속 참여하는 숫자는 늘어날 것이고, 우리 한인총회의 culture는 계속해서 더욱 건강하게 변화되어질 것입니다.
(7) 사무자동화/건물수리: 한인총회의 모든 데이타들이 통합되고 자동화 되었습니다. 한인총회 건물 전체는 지난 2년 반 동안의 수리를 통하여 완전 새롭게 단장되었습니다.
(8) 은퇴보조금 조성: 지난 3년에 걸쳐 은퇴보조금-연회비 플랜은 이제 거의 $10만불이 조성되었습니다. 시간이 지나면 지날수록 원금과 수익금은 더욱 큰 액수로 늘어날 것입니다.
(9) 연합단기선교사역: 단기선교를 가고 싶지만, 독자적인 여건이 안되거나, 인원이 충분하지 않거나, 경험이 없거나, 어떻게 시작해야 할지 도움이 필요한 교회들이, 연합하여 함께 훈련받고 함께 선교지에 들어가 사역하고, 하나님의 역사와 하나님과의 이야기를 가지고 교회로 돌아와, 교회에 부흥의 불을 당기는 사역입니다. 지난 2년 동안 시험적으로 시도하였고, 내년부터 본격적으로 가동합니다.
(10) EM Network: 1.5세 그리고 2세 영어권 목회자들을 규합하고, 그들을 다시 연결하여, 그들의 공동체를 다시 일으켜야 합니다. 현재 뉴저지 지역을 중심으로 작은 숫자가 다시 모이기 시작했습니다.
(11) Youth Ministries: 청소년 사역, 그리고 청소년 연합집회는 10년 전에 정점을 찍은 후, 그후로 급속하게 쇠퇴하였습니다. 청소년들의 교회로의 회귀와 청소년연합집회의 revival을 다시 일으켜야 합니다. 쉽지 않은 과제입니다만 주께서 우리를 긍휼히 여기신디면, 반전은 일어날 수 있습니다. 한인총회 차원에서의 구체적 사역을 준비하고 있습니다.
(12) 한인총회신학교: 한인총회 산하 100여개의 교회 안에 존재하는 보석같은 평신도들을 발굴하여, 리더십과 신학 및 목회훈련을 제공하는 것이 목표입니다. 훈련과정을 거치며 소명을 받는 자들은 한인총회가 주관하는 목사고시와 목사안수를 통하여, C&MA 한인총회의 목사로 세움받고 사역을 하게 됩니다. 현재 신학교 론칭 TFT가 준비작업을 진행하고 있으며, 2024년 가을에 개강합니다.
(13) 여성사역: 앞으로 여성 목회자들이 많이 늘어날 것이 기대됩니다. 또한 사모님들을 위한 구체적이고 실질적이고 지속적인 사역들의 개발 및 정착이 필요합니다. 따라서 앞으로 여성사역은 매우 중요합니다.
(14) 한인총회미래청사진: 위의 모든 사항들을 모두 총 정리하여, 내년 제41차 정기총회에 '한인총회 미래 청사진' 보고서를 작성하여 제출합니다. 현재 '한인총회미래청사진 TFT'가 구성되어 작업을 진행하고 있습니다.
지난 3년의 섬김을 제 나름대로 다음과 같이 정리해 보았습니다.
지난 3년은 코로나라는 참으로 어두운 터널을 통과하는 시간이었습니다. 코로나를 통과하면서 대부분 교회들의 심장은 서서히 마비되어 갔습니다. C&MA 한인총회도 예외는 아닙니다.
그래서, 한인총회의 마비되어가는 심장을 다시 뛰게하기 위하여, ER에서 심폐소생을 시도한 시간이었습니다. 응급조치를 통하여 멎어가던 심장은 다시 뛰고 피는 다시 심장에서 뿜어져 나오게 되었습니다.
그러나, 심장이 다시 뛴다고 해서, 건강이 완전히 회복된 것은 아닙니다. 심장에서 뿜어져 나오는 피가 이제는 혈관을 통하여 몸의 모든 부분으로 다 흘러들어가야 합니다. 몸의 모든 지체들이 다시 건강하게 살아나야 합니다. 결국, 이 부분이 앞으로 저와 모든 동역자님들이 집중해야 할 부분입니다. 한인총회 산하 한교회 한교회가 이제 다시 건강하게 일어서야 하는 과제가 아직 남아있습니다. 성경은 그것을 “부흥”이라고 부릅니다. 따라서, 우리에게는 “부흥”이라는 과제가 아직 남아 있습니다!

Hallelujah! Christmas, the day the Lord came to us, is approaching. I send God’s peace to each of you. This month marks exactly three years since I served as the District Superintendent of the KDCMA. I am grateful to the Lord for guiding me with grace over the past three years, and I am also grateful to all my co-workers for their encouragement and working together.
I would like to look back on the past three years of KDCMA Ministry with my co-workers. Furthermore, I would like to draw together a blueprint for the new year of 2024. The representative ministries carried out by the KDCMA over the past three years are as follows.
Blue colors are ministries that have been stably established. The Orange colors are those that we are currently continuing to pour our efforts into. The Red colors are those we will jump into next year. I will provide an additional explanation of each ministry in one or two sentences.
(1) Church Planting: We have completed and are operating the ‘Church Planting Roadmap’ and ‘Church Planting Coaching System’ that are aligned with the National Office policy and all provisions.
(2) Church Health: The extensive content of PEAK, the National Office’s church health checkup system, has been translated into Korean, and the system has been put into operation. A PEAK coaching team has been formed for Korean churches.
(3) Relationship with National Office: The current relationship with National Office leadership could not be better. We also continue to receive financial support for our core ministries.
(4) Unity in the KDCMA: For the unity in the KDCMA I, DS, continue to visit churches and caucus every week. I have visited 54 times in 2021, 57 times in 2022, and 56 times so far this year.
(5) Children's Companion Ministry: The number of churches using the contents of the Children's Sunday School Companion Ministry continues to increase. This ministry was selected as a $600,000 project over three years by the Lilly Foundation, and will also receive $90,000 in support from the National Office over the same period. I am grateful for the National Office’s continuous support of the KDCMA!
(6) Spiritual Ministry: The basis of ministry is spirituality. As long as the pastor's spirituality is alive, the church will never collapse. Currently, about 30 young pastors are participating. The number of participants will continue to grow in the future. And the culture of our KDCMA will continue to become healthier.
(7) Office Automation/Building Repair: All data of the KDCMA has been integrated and automated. The entire KDCMA headquarter building has been completely renovated through renovations over the past two and a half years.
(8) Retirement Subsidy Raised: Over the past three years, the Retirement Subsidy-Annual Membership Plan has now raised nearly $100,000. As time passes, the principal and profits will increase to larger amounts.
(9) United Short-Term Mission Ministry: There are churches that want to go on short-term missions, but do not have the resources to prepare on their own, enough staff, experience, nor know how to start short-term missions, so they need help. This is a ministry that unites these churches, trains them together, enters the mission field together, does mission work, and returns to the church with their own testimony of how God's work through them sparking revival in the church. It has been trialed for the past two years and will be fully operational starting next year.
(10) EM Network: Recruit 1.5 and 2nd generation English-speaking pastors, reconnect them, and revive their communities. Small numbers are now beginning to flock back to the New Jersey area.
(11) Youth Ministries: Youth ministries and youth rally peaked 10 years ago and have declined rapidly since then. We need to bring about the return of youth to church and the revival of youth rally. It is not an easy task, but if the Lord has mercy on us, a turnaround can happen. The KDCMA is preparing specific ministries for this purpose.
(12) KDCMA Theological Seminary: The goal is to discover gems of laypeople who exist in over
100 churches under the KDCMA and provide leadership, theology, and pastoral training. Those who receive a calling through the training process are appointed and serve as pastors of the KDCMA through the pastoral examination and ordination hosted by the KDCMA. Currently, the seminary launch TFT is making preparations, and classes will open in the fall of 2024.
(13) Women's Ministry: It is expected that the number of female pastors within the KDCMA will increase significantly in the future. So, there is a need to develop and establish specific, practical, and continuous ministries for pastors’ wives. Therefore, women's ministry will be very important in the future.
(14) KDCMA Future Blueprint: All of the above matters will be summarized, and a report titled ‘KDCMA Future Blueprint’ will be prepared and submitted to the 41st District Conference next year. Currently, the ‘KDCMA Future Blueprint TFT’ has been formed and is in progress.
I have summarized my service over the past three years as follows. (1) The past three years have been a time of passing through a truly dark tunnel called COVID-19. As we passed through the COVID-19, the hearts of most churches gradually became paralyzed. KDCMA is no exception. (2) So, in order to get the KDCMA's paralyzed heart beating again, it was time to attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the ER. Through emergency measures, the heart that had stopped began beating again, and blood began to spurt from the heart again. (3) However, just because our heart starts beating again, our health does not completely recover. The blood pumping out of the heart must now flow to all parts of the body through blood vessels. All parts of the body must come back to health. In the end, this is what I and all my co-workers need to focus on in the future. There still remains the task of each church under the KDCMA getting back on its feet in good health. The Bible calls it “revival.” So, the task of “revival” still remains!

총회 소식
1. 샌디에고베델교회는 12월 31일(주일) 김희수 목사님 원로목사 추대예배를 드립니다. 김희수 목사님과 사모님은 지난 25년간 샌디에고베델교회를 개척하시고, 교회를 아름답게 일으키셨습니다. 김희수 목사님 그리고 사모님 그동안 수고 많으셨습니다.
2. 한인총회의 2024년 새해 시무예배가 1월 15일(월) 동부시간으로 낮 12에, 총회 본부에서 드려집니다. 뉴욕과 뉴저지 지역의 모든 동역자님들 그리고 사모님들 오셔서 함께 예배드리시면 좋겠습니다. 다른 모든 지역의 동역자님들께서는 online으로 예배에 동참하실 수 있습니다. 자세한 정보는 추후 알려드리겠습니다. 시무예배 후에 점심식사를 함께 하시겠습니다.
3. 2024년 새해부터는 한인총회 산하 모든 교회들이 매달 상회비를 한인총회로 보내주시기 바랍니다. 모든 교회들은 헌금의 4% (상회비 2%, 개척지원비 2%)를 총회에 납부하게 되어 있습니다. 교회들이 많이 어려운 때임을 잘 알고 있습니다. 따라서 많이 어려우실 경우, 작은 액수라도 매달 상회비 명목으로 총회에 보내주시기를 부탁드립니다. 모든 교회들이 상회비를 납부할 때, 우리 모두는 하나되고, 주께서 기뻐하심으로 큰 역사가 일어납니다.
4. 한인총회 앱에서 각 교회들은 자신들이 한인총회에 보낸 (1)상회비, (2)개척지원금 그리고 (3)협력선교사지원금에 대한 통계를 한눈에 볼 수 있으며, 또한 모든 내역과 영수증을 프린트 할 수 있습니다. 한인총회 앱 ( https://kdcma.glideapp.io/ )으로 들어가셔서, 자신의 교회로 가시면, 상회/개척지원/협력선교사지원 항목이 나옵니다.

1. San Diego Bethel Korean Church will hold a emeritus pastor appointment service for Rev. Hui-
Soo Joshua Kim on Sunday, December 31st. Rev. Hui-Soo Joshua Kim and his wife have pio-
neered San Diego Bethel Korean Church and built a beautiful church over the past 25 years.

2. The KDCMA’s 2024 New Years’ Service will be held at the KDCMA headquarters office on
Monday, January 15th at 12 noon Eastern time. I would like all pastors and wives from New
York and New Jersey to come and worship together. Coworkers from all other caucus can par-
ticipate in worship online. More detailed information will be provided later. We will have lunch
together after the New Years’ Service.
3. Starting from the new year of 2024, I ask that all KDCMA Churches send KDCMA fund to our
office. All churches are required to send 4% of your offerings (2% for KDMCA Fund and 2% for
Church Plant & Missions Fund) to the KDCMA. I know that these are difficult times for church-
es. If you are having a hard time, please send even a small amount to the KDCMA each month
in the name of the KDCMA fund. When all churches send their dues, we all become one, and a
great work takes place as the Lord is pleased.
4. In the KDCMA app, each church can view at a glance statistic on (1) KDCMA Fund, (2) Church
Plant Support, and (3) Mission Support sent to the KDCMA. You can also print all statements
and receipts. Go to the KDCMA app (https://kdcma.glideapp.io/), go to your church, and check
The KDCMA Fund/Church Plant Support/Mission Support items.
5. Following completion of new fence, the entire interior of the first floor of the KDCMA building
was newly remodeled.
6. Pastors who want to use the PEAK (Church Health Checkup Program) program in their church,
